Realistic Signings/Who would you sign?

Post  Internazionale_Villa on Thu May 19, 2011 12:10 pm

Who do you think we will sign? I can only see us getting 2 maybe 3 in IMO seeing as we splashed out 18-24mill for Bentagoal.

CB-Samba/Huth or someone from france.

RB-Someone from france.

ST-I think management will be signing another ST to replace Heskey/Carew not sure who though, maybe a foreigner again.

I'd personally like to sign

CB-Cahill

RB-Walker

LB-Figueroa

LW-N'Zogbia

ST-Ba or Obinna

Always liked Kenwyn Jones, good in the air and scores goals.

Sturridge and bent are a bit to similiar, and Chelsea aint going to want to let him go.

I see that Elmander is available on a free at the end of the season, he might be worth a punt as a 3rd striker for free.

I think they are different players, Sturridge has more natural ability and can see a pass so I think they could work. I see what you are saying about Chelsea not wanting to let him know, but Sturridge did say yesterday if he isn't going to be playing first team football then he wants to leave.

Elmander I don't see the point off, I dont rate him to be honest.

I dont think we need any midfielders IMO, thats definatly an area where id give our young guns a go. Jones is a good shout he'd be good in a 4-4-2

Friedel

Walker Cahill Cuellar Figueroa

Albrighton Delph Makoun Downing/Nzogbia

Jones

Bent

Looks good to me!

I would like to see us use the formation that MON originally did in his first season if Ashley Young goes.

Friedel (unless a much better keeper is purchased)

Walker (on loan again I don't see spurs selling) Dunne Collins L.Young

Delph Reo Coker Makoun

Agbonlahor Downing

Bent

in that 3 up front when attacking formation.

Sturridge would be an excellent signing IMO. Drops off the play more than Bent and different sort of player. IF Headbang the noses go down, wouldnt mind going for Ben Foster. Also think Nayib Gharzabi would be an excellent choice for left back from Tel Aviv.

Reo Coker has been spouting off again how he is an attacking midfielder, he will be off as will Friedel. Isnt Luke Young's contract up, if so reckon he will head back South, possibly to Fulham. Cant see Spuds letting Walker go back on loan unfortunately.

Milner Delph Makoun in the middle

2 of Downing/Albrighton/ N Zogbia on wings

Bent upfront

Would do very nicely..

Sturridge would be a great signing.. He wont get much of a look in at Chelsea IMO

Can't believe none of you are talking about Defensive additions. Our attack is the last part we should be worried about IMO. I'd hate to go into next season with Dunne and Collins.2 new CB's, a RB and a LB are desperatly needed.

Agreed, defensive additions are key, but to be honest, I cant think of many options for right and left back other than the ones I have given, same for centre back as well.

I'm don't even really rate Samba to be honest. Still cant believe Cueller has been given more game time when our defence has been so shite this season.

Would be very happy to get him on board.

Agree about Cuellar, fecking joke. Still cant believe he was dropped after Wolves away when he was MOTM by a bloody country mile. Dont rate Samba, will probably get some foreign bloke as cant think of many here.

I think at least one CB will be top priority along with a striker and CM. I'd love to see Milner back but I don't think he'd be up for it and I can't imagine Lerner would be too keen either. Don't think we'll be spending much more than that.

How much would he cost? Lerner suprised me by splashing out on DB but I can't see him going for it this summer.

Agree we def need a strong CB.. Would like Walker back next season at RB.. Enrique most likely will go to Liverpool so we could go for Figeorou (Sp) from Wigan or maybe Taiwo from Marseille, think he's contract is up in the summer and is supposed to be a good attacking LB

Samba is a good defender and will only be better with Cuellar beside him. I'd love us to go for Cahill though, hes still a legend for that overhead kick against the coca cola champions. I dont think a striker is that important IMO, Bent Gabby Delfounso Wiemann is decent.

Re: Realistic Signings/Who would you sign?

Quotes from Gary Mac today on Sky Sports Website regarding the business the club is looking to do in summer transfer window.

"It won't need a great deal of surgery. We feel we need two or three players adding to what we have got.

"If you watched us last week at the Emirates (winning against Arsenal) that suggests that's the case."

The last part really pissed me off. Has he forgot already the shite our team has been churning out all season and the very close relegation battle? We won at Arsenal, big fecking deal. The team are capable of nicking 2 early goals then defending for their lives for the rest of the match. Well done Gary that makes us better than Arsenal, Champions League here we come.

80% of our side has been substandard the majority of this season. I hope one good, hard earned result doesnt cloud their judgements in regards of how much of a shambles it all has been. Violin

2-3 signings of the quality to be in our starting 11 is enough IMO. What a clown we have for an assistant manager though, he hasnt a clue and is out of his depth.

Reckon the money will go on a central midfielder and a centre back and anything else will loans or more low key players.
