Gary Gardner

Post  villanfromluton on Sat Jul 30, 2011 3:50 pm

Know it was a pre season kick about, but for the 20 minutes he was on the pitch he looked a top prospect. Really hope he is given some game time. Looks physically stronger than his brother, not scared to get stuck in and looks energetic. One bright spark along with Shay Given in an otherwise shite display

Yes we beat Walsall and also Blackburn which is a premiership team, thats something West Ham couldn't do last season. Losing 2-0 to Chelsea is no concern really, a lot of teams will lose by a lot more then that through the season and its only pre-season mark results mean nothing. Which is why you shouldn't take to much hope from beating non league teams in your pre-season friendlies.

Didn't watch any of the game today as took my daughter out for the day.
Glad that Gardner had a run out, would be good to see him get a few apparences this season and see what he is capable of.

ROT, he only got the last 20 minutes with Makoun, but really impressed by what I saw. Certainly not afraid to get stuck in, looks physically strong.

Marky boy, you may have signed a few players, but you are still in the CHUMPIONSHIP Very Happy

Got to agree with Lutes, Gary Gardner didn't look out of place at all, and looks like a direct replacement for Petrov. Strong, good on the ball, and can play a pass!

Read about the game and saw a pic in the sun which looked like typical mayhem in our own box. Seriously dont wanna go into next season with a Dunne-Collins partnership.

Did you go for a season ticket in the end? Because if you did, you need to check the fixture list. The Cardiff game is at 1:00pm on Sunday.

Just scored two goals in a minute for the under 21's, first was a cracking free kick and second from edge of the box.

Peter Grant was saying today that he expects Gardner to make his debut before Christmas. Said that they have been holding him back due to lack of football last season because of his cruciate injury.

Had only turned over a couple of minutes before. England got a free kick and Henderson and that Chamberlain lad tried to get the ball off him, but Gardner showed great bottle by insisting he was taking it and a cracking effort in top corner. Hope Grant is right, want to see this lad in first team action

He just scored a HAT TRICK against AJAX under 19s. A header, a free kick, and a outside of the box curler.

PROMOTE THIS BEAST RIGHT NOW, MCLEISH!

He's just like Gabby Agbonlahor in the late DOL/Early MON days. Everyone was raving about him in the reserves, the fans wanted to see what he could do in the first team.....

When Gabby came through the reserves, no one really noticed him as it was at the same time as Luke Moore and we all thought it was him that was going to go on to be the big star.
