didn't think he hit it cleanly at first but on second look perhaps he did, their defence had gone a bit to sleep tbh its not the most thrilling display.

Oh and how annoying is Jack Woodward as a commentator, wish he would shut the **** up.

Nice goal, left foot volley from about 10 yards. Think it was Luke Young who played a great ball into the box from the right, Bent controlled it on his chest and it went up in the air towards N'Zogbia who just drilled it home. Placed it right in the corner.

Good goal, he's looked very good so far. I don't think Makoun has mis-placed a pass up to now.

Their goal was fecking brilliant though IMO, player called Alan drilled the ball into the net from about 25 yards.

We really miss a forward that will drop deeper and pick up the ball and create moves, like a classic number 10 would.

See I would describe it as a bit of a hopeful ball into the box, it bounced of Bent straight up into the air and luckily landed infront of nzogbia who swung at it and it bobbled across the keeper just about sneaking inside the far post

Think he is watching a different game Very Happy

Decent finish, you can tell that N'Zogbia has had bugger all pre-season.

He wasn't looking, with the positive spin you have put on it Jay I think you can replace this Jack Woodward, his commentating annoys the hell out of me. No matter how shit something is he can make it sound like it was a good bit of play.

Villa team for tonight in Portugal v Sporting Braga

Given

Young, Dunne, Clark, Warnock

N'Zogbia, Petrov, Makoun, Heskey

Agbonlahor, Bent.

Subs:

Ireland, Bannan, Albrighton, Beye, Delfouneso, Guzan, Hogg, Gardner, Herd, Lichaj, Marshall.

Strange line up. WTF is Heskey doing playing on the wing or have we set up differently..

Albrighton hasnt featured much in pre season from the start..

Squad looks thin to me..

Heskey has play ok on the wing. Ireland has look lively since he came on.

Squad does look thin, it is however missing Cueller, Collins and Delph.

Watched the last hour on AVTV, what a yawnfest! Didnt test the keeper, didnt keep possesion and only managed more than 3 passes with the last seconds of the game.
Think our board has sold McLeish down the river, unless he knew completely what he was getting into? He is probably the most disliked managerial appointment in recent history, at least give the guy a fighting chance to compete in the Premier League and win over the fans. Back him with money now, let him strengthen a very average playing staff. You cant weaken a team that hovered around the relegation zone last season with just 2 players and expect miracles, no matter how good I think Given and NZog are.

Randy, Paul Faulkner and General Krulak at this present moment in time have set us up for a majorly disapointing season ahead. I am very interested to hear what RL `s supposedly immanent statement will say. Hopefully it will just be truthful and state that the original 5 year plan is out the window and the ambition for the next season is survival and maybe a cup run!

At the moment we have an average to below average squad with sprinkling of quality in Darren Bent, Given and I`d say Nzogbia. Its noway near enough and the young uns are not the answer.

reality is lads, ye are never going to hit the glory days ever again.

ye had your chance in the last few years but ye left o'neill spunk it all away. now your chance is gone.

ye'll just be languishing, battling to beat relegation every season like the rest of us.

enjoy.

ye blew it, fair play.
