Collins/Dunne

Post  roadoftrinity on Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:11 pm

Last season we blamed Houllier for our conseeding of set pieces, yet it continues this season. The defending for the 2nd goal, and both goals against the Baggies, shocking. Hopefully Collins will be dropped as I think he is shite but something's got to change.

It's simple. They are shit. They look good doing last ditch challenges but technically rubbish. If Lion was around he would be having a field day with Dunne.

Also.. Would've been better of getting Seb Larsson on a free and saving the 9.5 on N Zog!

True on N'Zogbia at the moment, bit imagine the uproar in the summer if we had signed Larsson instead of him. All we can do is hope he will come good.

Unfortunately while we are conceding goals from set pieces like this Heskey will stay in the team as well.

Yeah would've been uproar. Was more a dig at N Zog.

Defending is bad. Heskey is reportedly being offered a new contract Shocked

Can't believe how shite we are at set pieces - especially when I consider Collins and Dunne to be some of the best 'headerers' of the ball. Fair enough, they finally scored from a corner today, but couldn't defend them last week or today.

And N'Zogbia looked much better today. Was able to beat his man, cut in on his left foot and get a shot away about 3 times. Nearly scored the 2nd time, ball got deflected over.

Petrov's goal was pure quality. He doesn't score many, but when he does, they're fecking great.

Not sure how the feck Bent missed his chance, the one with the 1-2 with Gabby. We could forgive him, because maybe the nerves of coming back to the Stadium of Light got to him.

Anyway, just realised we've got an Englishman, an Irishman, a Welshman and a Scotsman in our defence - no wonder our defence is a JOKE!

Collins was awful for that goal, but was never a free kick in the first place. Dunne was too strong for the little lad

Same old crap can't hold onto a lead for shit, how didn't Bent score I dunno.

One positive I thought Herd looked excellent today.

That is 3 absolute sitters Bent has missed this season. Newcastle and WBA both costing is points, and possibly yesterday as well.

Glad about Herd, we need a player in that position.

Yes. If Bent had scored what was a sitter, you'd have won and all the rest would not have mattered.

What the fcuk has Carlos Cuellar got to do to get a chance at centre half? I can only guess that they're ensuring he doesn't get injured so he can be sold in January

Bent will be gone if a good offer comes in. He came to get service off Young n Downing.

That doesn't explain his misses cus they were simple. But he's prone to missin chances despite getting 15 plus goals.

Not a chance we will get an offer for him the form he is in a the moment, about as much chance of getting a good offer for N'Zogbia.

Think he has only been fit a couple of weeks, McLeish surely has to start him in the next game.
