What a clueless bunch of cretins FIFA are. England need to stand up to these tossers, what a disgrace

The FA needs to paint a dirty great poppy in the Centre circle..... That or give the fans boards to hold up that shows a giant poppy....

The problem comes when less worthy causes want to display emblems on their shirts citing an allowance of England to display a poppy as a case when it was allowed.

It is, and there's no sane argument against it. My only worry is there's bound to be someone who abuses the change in law, despite it being a change that should be made. FIFA should allow it, so long as they make sure it's very well known it's a one off in exceptional circumstance. Can you imagine how sickening it would be if an Arab country decided to display anti-Israel sentiment and used the poppy being allowed as a way to wriggle past the rule?

There is no anti anybody with the poppy though, totally different circumstances. The least that should happen is something like they wear tracksuits with a poppy on show and then hand the poppies to the mascot or something, just to show FIFA for the twats that they are

The poppy is a symbol of remembrance, not war. And it remembers all those who gave their lives. Poles, French, Canadians, Australians et al. FIFA can't stop Wembley being decked out on Saturday, can they?

If I was an advertiser paying for space on the electronic hoardings I would be incorporating the poppy into my advertising...

Oh I'm not disagreeing in anyway. It should be allowed, so long as FIFA make sure it's a one time exception and that every nation understands that. I don't see how it's political, religious, or commercial in any way, shape, or form but if that's the law they're citing then it needs to be made very very very clear that it's a one time, compassionate act.

If the players feel strongly about it then they should wear shirts under the top with poppies on and if we manage to score the whole team should take their shirts of in celebration.

Would the ref do the sane thing...
