Given has 4 years left on his contract so that is very unlikely

We signed him on a 5 year contract? He'll be 40 then! WTF did we do that for?

So he would sign for us and take away from the massive pay cut he was having.

Where?

"Didn't we finish 9th last year, and that was a poor year, now mcleish has gone, we will be back up there easy, no problem at all."

"IMO next season will be tough but I think Lambert could be the man to lead us to where we should be given finances and that is 7th. "

Only 2 this time, but once Martinez/Lambert get appointed, I'm sure they'll be coming out. You won't be fighting relegation again, but the new man faces a massive rebuilding task. Lots of below average players on big wages, and Villa aren't exactly loaded.

You seem to be struggling to read the full thread, Tilton was talking about top 10 which is what AVFC response is to, is top 10 such a ridiculous aim for any team that is in the Premier League? 47 points is hardly the most ridiculous aim at the start of a season is it?

It's not an aim with you lot, it's an expectation. Don't know how far your club has slipped. No

Are we surprised, Jesus is struggling to remember West Hams relegation on another thread, he has memories of Green diving around the place saving everything that came his way, invincible, how they was relegated god only knows.

Not just this thread, the last couple of seasons Villa fans seem to think they've a divine right to top 8 with a shite squad and a clueless boardroom. No

Well the previous 3 season we finished 6th, so you would have to be a fucking moron to aim to finish top 10 when you finished 6th the previous year.

Even under Houiller, we finished 1 point off 8th with a shite squad as you put it.

Laughing Jesus making a complete dick of himself once again.

One season outside the top ten and we've slipped so far down haven't we. We will be around 10th which is not too far from eighth is it.

Funny would be predicting mid table but getting relegated. I wonder who could make such a prediction Rolling Eyes

Talking about a clueless board. Didn't you lot employ and keep faith with Grant for an entire season in which he led you to relegation Shocked

Your squad under Houllier had Downing and Young, two players you've failed to replace and were your two best players in that squad.

You were saying past couple of seasons we had shite squad so shouldn't have been aiming for 8th.

I'm not sure whether you are really stupid or just really bad at wined up's.

He's entitled to his opinion. Same as he was when he said that Quashie was a better signing than Ashley Young, that Hogan Ephraim was the next big thing. Mark Noble would definitely play for England before Ashley Young. I believe he also tipped a top 10 fin
ish when West Ham finished 17th and 20th.Last week he labelled Man City chokers, 5 mins before they won the title. Even so he is like i said entitled to an opinion, which is the idea of a football forum after all.
