Me either. Sounds like he has done well in Norway but it would still represent a big gamble IMO. At least Lambo has had a season and proved his worth getting promoted from the Championship. Whilst I like the idea of going for a younger, up coming manager I don't think we can afford to take to much of a risk at this stage.

I'd rather Lambert but i've said all along that we need a young hungry manager rather than a 'safe' option ie Curbishley. Solskjaer will have ambitions of managing a major european club and the Villa job would be an ideal stepping stone. If he took the Villa job and left 2 or 3 yrs later for a big job then it means he's been a success with us. After the last two seasons this has got to be an ideal time to take the Villa job. Following MON was a tough ask as he'd basically hit the ceiling for us with 6th spot and a cup final. Next season 50 points and mid table will be viewed as a success after the shower of shit McMinge served up

I wouldnt be too unhappy. He managed Man Ure reserves didnt he, so will know about some talented youngsters from his time there. Has done well in Norway, will have some good contacts, so would be willing to accept the chance rather than some boring old git

Yes, I've been in the gym today after playing 18 holes of golf. Never been so fit in my life. You take it easy, don't over do it. Exercise when you're obese needs strict control by an expert. Very Happy

Is a gamble, but one I wouldnt mind us taking. Only negative is when his name was brought up today, it reminded me of the fecking goalie on loan in the trackkie bottoms letting the ball go through him in injury time in FA Cup.

The main thing I don't like about this is that I feel it's another recommendation from Fergie. However, he is a young manager that we need and i stuck a fiver on him at 20/1 when I saw the rumour on Villatalk earlier.

Would still prefer Lambert but maybe he's not interested

I don't think an established PL manager would want to go to Villa. So they're going to be forced to look around and take a bit of a gamble. Solksjaer is certainly that. I hope he does well, if he takes the job.

Ha, I do like a flutter, I'm tempted to lay off the bet though as I still think its going to be Lambert even though everything points to Ole.

Big risk, after this season anyone is better then mcleish, but if OGS doesn't work out and we have to change manager again I think we would have really missed out on a good and young manager in Lambert. Our loss will once again be someone else's gain.

Rodgers has turned down Liverpool Bedsy so doubt we could ever get him..

Lambert would've been nice.. with OGS it is a bit of a risk but i dont think he can be as bad as Mcminge.. Lets hope OGS is the new Mourinhio and not the new Juan De Ramos Very Happy
