Adrian Westwood

Post  villanfromluton on Sat Nov 03, 2012 11:36 pm

Just watched the sky game and thought this lad was excellent, nice easy passes, good covering and seemed to be a leader as well. Ades says he is shit, so there is hope this lad could be a decent player

Well to be honest, a lot of Villa fans were already dismissing him after a couple of short cameo appearances. Give the lad a chance FFS!

Lambert gave him the opportunity today, and he took it with both hands. Well done to the lad, he played great.

To be honest though, the whole team done very well. Benteke was immense yet again, bullied Cuéllar and O'Shea all game. Won every header he was able get to (not only won them, but put them into dangerous positions or layed them off to other players).

The back 4 was strong, even though we had to make 2 changes to them. Matt LeTissier called Vlaar and Clark 'outstanding' today - and I swear he hates Villa!

Bannan and Westwood played together today as if they've been playing together for years. Controlled the midfield nicely. Ireland was a bit hit and miss, especially for about 10 minutes in the second half when he couldn't string a pass together or control the ball. He recovered and ended up playing OK for the rest of the game.

Benteke is just going from strength to strength. Can't stress how much he is impressing everyone with his performances. He's just a beast!

Gabby looked like his old self today, except he wanted the ball all the time. His overall technique on the ball has improved over the seasons, and he was direct, and his passing output was on point today. Very good game. Thankfully he's broken his PL scoring drought.

Weimann worked his socks off today, excellent work rate from him, in fact, throughout the whole team the work rate was epic.

MON said after the game the Lee Cattermoles performence was as good as he had seen from any player.

I saw that as well, very funny.

Jay, it was nice to see Clark put in a strong performance, still have doubts that he can cope with a big physical striker in the mould of Carroll, but hope I am proved wrong.

I still think Clark is better in midfield. My biggest concern with him is the amount of cards he picks up. The days of thundering into tackles are sadly gone. Clark needs to wise up pretty sharpish.

I agree with the fact he picks up needless yellow cards. The kick out on Fletcher on Saturday was stupid - he wasn't going anywhere - has his back to goal and was 40 yards from our box!
