Relegation Battle part 3

Post  villainies on Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:45 am

Who fancies another relegation battle then? With Tekkers off to Spurs and us signing another bunch of random norberts I think we're certain to be right in the shit again this season. I'm hoping our norberts will be marginally better than the norberts coming up from the Championship but you never can tell aye.

With Bentekke I fancied us for top 10, without him with the current squad, we are most likely looking at bottom half and a possible struggle, however, it does depend who Lambert can bring in to replace Bentekke

But who ever he brings in up front we need to sort out our defence.

It's very hard to say.

I believe in Lambert, and think he'll bring in a great replacement, if he hasn't already done so in Helenius.

In fact, if we get about 25m from the Benteke sale, then he could also bring in a quality attacking midfielder and we could finish in the top 10.

It's a shit league. We can finish anywhere from 8th downwards and all of those teams will be in a relegation scrap. Look at Norwich last season or even us in Houllier's season where with three games to go were in danger but ended up 9th. In our favour is that Palace and Hull are pretty much nailed on for the drop. We'll be one of a good ten clubs trying to avoid that 18th spot. As for Benteke, is anyone actually surprised?

That's about the strength of it, QB.
It's a big shame about Benteke buy as you say, hardly surprising in today's game.

I'm only surprised he's actually put in a transfer request other that trying to worm his way out of the club and still claim all his loyalty bonuses, his agent must have promised him it was the best way to get more money.

Shame he is off because it would have been nice to see him play for us for a bit longer.

Yeah I agree with that. Most players would do everything they can to force the move without putting in the request but I still hoped we'd see another season from the treacherous little fuckwit.

As I've posted (as a wind up) on a couple of Spurts newsboards, he'll go to WHL, have a good World Cup and will be on the move next year when a big club comes in for him.

His agent is very good at his job. Got him from Genk into the prem on a million pound contract and now is waiting on a nice big comission for the second season running. It's Benteke's choice. He could always sack his agent if he wasn't happy with him.

No doubt will if he doesn't get his move.

Blame the agent, score a few goals, everyone forgets until the January transfer window.

It pisses me off when all these reports state that Benteke scored the goals which kept Villa up.

What about the other 10 players who worked and fed ball through.

If they reckon Spuds will be so much better off with him in front, theye had better start looking at Spuds' style of play which is totally different from ours'.

I'm not saying he can't play with other teams, but PL's gameplans last year were with Benteke finishing in mind.

How will he settle in with a bunch of overpaid, older, slower, petulant primadonnas?

(I also chuckle when the reporters state he is moving to a big club. Until the likes of Citeh, ManUre, Chelsea, Arsenal come in for him, that isn't the case)

You're right, Reddi old chap.
Villa set up around him as the main front man, he got a lot of ball. The Spuds won't do that. And if Bale doesn't leave, I think Benteke will find himself up shit creek without a paddle.

I think Lambert is showing that he's a good manager and all power to his elbow, he won't take crap from prima donnas.
He took a big gamble backing his youngsters but it looks like it will pay big dividends for Villa on the long run.
